On October 15, at the space of our partners IDEM Animation School, we will celebrate the second day of the ARTFutur project: Rethinking Digital Culture, an initiative promoted by the Design, Creativity and Culture Commission of 22@Network Barcelona and FAD – Foment de les Arts i del Disseny, with the collaboration of several creative, academic and technological entities of the 22@ district.
This new session, entitled “Ethics and Technology”, is part of Barcelona Design Week and represents a unique opportunity to connect with pioneering projects and key agents of the digital creative sector. The meeting aims to offer a space for reflection and debate on the social, cultural and ethical implications of technological innovation, with special attention to sustainability and human impact.
The central theme will revolve around how virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and other expanded environments transform cultural experience and pose new social and ethical challenges. The objective is to generate a space for dialogue where speakers, leading figures in the creative, academic and technological fields, can analyse how new technologies — especially artificial intelligence and immersive reality — are redefining art, culture and the way we relate to the digital world.
The debates will address key issues such as:
- The integration of AI in creative processes
- The implications of immersive experiences in cultural narrative
- The ethical dilemmas that arise
This session will feature interdisciplinary perspectives — philosophical, creative, economic and social —, offering a comprehensive view of the multiple dimensions of digital transformation. With this approach, ART Futur aims to foster critical thinking and enrich the understanding of the effects of technology on society and culture.
Beyond academic debate, the project seeks to promote the exchange of ideas and collective reflection between technology, art and society, consolidating itself as a meeting point for professionals, artists, researchers and citizens interested in exploring the challenges and opportunities of cultural digitization.
Agenda:
