We had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 20 representatives from European universities to Barcelona’s 22@ Innovation District.

The visit was organised within the framework of the “Staff Week” programme led by Fundació TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme, an affiliated centre of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. This initiative brings together administrative and academic professionals from higher education institutions across Europe to learn about different ways of working, collaboration models, and innovation ecosystems.

As part of the programme’s focus on innovation, the group visited 22@ to gain first-hand insight into the business, technological, and educational environment connected to the district, currently considered one of the leading innovation hubs internationally.

During the session, we shared the transformation story of 22@, the evolution of the district, and the role of 22@Network Barcelona in fostering collaboration and supporting the growth of Barcelona’s innovation ecosystem. Afterwards, we guided the group through some of the district’s most emblematic spots to showcase its urban and economic transformation.

It was a pleasure to exchange ideas and perspectives on innovation, education, and international collaboration.
