Yesterday, as part of the 22@Creative Lab programme within the Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026 agenda, we explored the city through a different lens with Reworlding Barcelona, an immersive urban game led by Associate Professor Troy Innocent and the RMIT Future Play Lab.
Walking through the streets of Poblenou, from the UPF Poblenou Campus and around iconic spaces such as Museu Can Framis, participants engaged in a collective journey to imagine what Barcelona could become by 2050. Through storytelling, play, sound and urban exploration, we reflected on how cities can respond to climate, social and technological challenges while fostering more inclusive, resilient and regenerative futures.
More than a walk, the experience transformed the city into a living laboratory for collective imagination, inviting participants to collaborate, question assumptions and co-create new narratives for urban life.
A special thank you to Troy Innocent and everyone who joined us in this unique exploration of future urban possibilities.
As Barcelona advances towards its role as World Capital of Architecture 2026, initiatives like these demonstrate the importance of creativity, participation and experimentation in shaping the cities of tomorrow.
