Inside La Fabrica &Co: Baylor University discovers the 22@ Innovation District

Chenrui Pan,

Today we were delighted to welcome a group of students from Baylor University to 22@ Barcelona as part of their intensive "Business in Spain" programme, organised by CEA CAPA Barcelona. The programme focuses on business communication, giving students the opportunity to explore how international organisations adapt their internal and external communication strategies to engage diverse global audiences.

To provide a real-world perspective, we visited La Fabrica &Co, an innovative coliving and coworking space in the heart of the 22@ Innovation District. Designed for postgraduate students, entrepreneurs and international talent, La Fabrica &Co combines accommodation, workspaces and a vibrant community, creating an environment where collaboration, networking and professional growth naturally come together.

The visit began with an introduction to the 22@ Innovation District and 22@Network Barcelona, where we shared how the association fosters collaboration between companies, universities, research centres and public institutions.

We were also fortunate to be joined by Joaquín Bencomo and Sabina Schladitz, founders of La Fabrica &Co, who shared the story behind the project, its evolution, and their vision of creating a community where talent, entrepreneurship and meaningful connections can flourish.

The students then toured the different facilities of La Fabrica &Co, discovering how thoughtfully designed spaces can support collaboration, creativity and innovation while attracting and retaining international talent.

Thank you to CEA CAPA Barcelona, Baylor University, and the entire La Fabrica &Co team for making this inspiring visit possible. It was a pleasure to share how the 22@ Innovation District continues to connect people, ideas and organisations from around the world!
