As part of the 2026 program, the Barcelona Design Week (BDW) invites creative professionals and studios, schools and universities, and companies, both national and international, to participate in the third edition of its unconventional UNDERGROUND BDW showcase, which will be held on October 22-24, 2026 at the Parking Gallery of LCI Barcelona School of Design and Visual Arts.

The third edition of UNDERGROUND BDW focuses, within the broader framework of Design for Human Future, on Prototyping and Testing, the crucial phase of design. Because every idea needs form and function, purpose and application, and only makes sense when tested with real people.

An edition that prioritizes processes and prototypes with purpose, reinforcing BDW as a platform for critical thinking, applied innovation and building habitable futures (in dialogue with the Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026). Prototyping and testing to transform purposeful ideas into real solutions: validated by people, serving society.
