The awards recognize the best projects carried out in 2022 in the field of the fight against climate change and sustainability, making use of technology.
The Retina ECO Awards, organized by PRISA Media in collaboration with Capgemini, are organizing the third edition in order to recognize the best projects of the year 2022 in the field of the fight against climate change, sustainability and technological innovation. The reception of candidacies is open from this Tuesday, March 21 to Friday, May 19.
The winners of the five award categories will be selected by a jury made up of outstanding professionals in the field of sustainability and technology and will be honored at a grand gala in Madrid on June 28 for their commitment to the environment and innovation.
The award categories are:
Small and Medium Enterprise in Innovation in Sustainability Award, intended for SMEs or startups that have innovated products or services with a positive impact on sustainability and in the fight against climate change.
Green Generation Award, which recognizes innovative and technology-based projects linked to the generation of clean and renewable energy, its distribution and transport or storage, as well as self-consumption and distributed generation.
Efficient Consumption Award, aimed at innovative and technology-based projects that seek to reduce energy consumption, including smart buildings, energy efficiency in industrial environments, sensors and monitoring systems, optimization and modeling of consumption.
Intelligent Mobility Award, intended for innovative and technology-based projects in the field of urban and interurban mobility, logistics and intelligent distribution, as well as intelligent cities and sustainable vehicles.
Sustainable Ecosystem Award, which recognizes innovative and technology-based projects with a sectoral or multi-company impact that seek sustainable development and progress in environmental projects including green financing, the circular economy and emissions compensation.
About the awards
The Retina ECO Awards were created in 2021 to recognize the most outstanding innovative projects of organizations and companies which fight climate change through innovation. The previous edition included the presence of Her Majesty Queen Doña Letizia at the awards ceremony, in which the initiatives Green & Digital Hydrogen Mallorca, Proyecto de Eficiencia Energética Mahou San Miguel-Verallia, Turbina de presício intermedia were awarded for 100% sustainable fuel from ITP Aero, The positive energy of Carmona's solar plants and the Repetco multilayer PET recycling plant.
