Jaguar and Land Rover, brands represented by LandMotors and Solmobil dealers located in Barcelona, Vallès Occidental, Vallès Oriental and Maresme, are launching a new initiative to reuse the batteries of electric vehicles once their useful life in the vehicle is over.
Jaguar Land Rover has collaborated with Off Grid Energy to develop a zero-emission energy storage unit for the second life of Jaguar I-PACE batteries.
The gridtogo™ mobile battery Energy Storage System (ESS), which incorporates lithium-ion cells from Jaguar I-PACE batteries sourced from prototype models and engineering test vehicles, provides zero-emission power when grid access is limited or unavailable.
Jaguar Land Rover's batteries are designed to the highest safety standards, so they can be used safely for later use and in low energy situations when battery life is less than the stringent requirements of an electric vehicle. The supply of recovered batteries for stationary applications, such as renewable energy storage, could exceed 200 gigawatt hours by 2030, generating a global value in excess of $30 billion*.
