22@Network BCN and Indian leaders met on May 27 at Casa Asia to find out how the 22@ District has become the first European innovation hub and the first innovation district in the world.

Casa Asia is a public consortium created in 2001 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the city councils of Barcelona and Madrid. The headquarters are in Barcelona and it has a center in Madrid. Casa Asia aims to contribute to a better understanding between Spain and Asian countries and promote institutional, economic, cultural and educational relations, as well as encourage exchanges in the fields of culture, ideas and projects of common interest.

This meeting began at the Casa Asia headquarters, where Amadeo Jensana, Director of Economy and Business, and Ángel Aranguren, Executive Advisor, received the Leaders, followed by the meeting with the participation of Enric Urreta and Isabel Sabadí, President and Director of 22 @Network BCN respectively, and Sergi Sauri, Director of the Center for Innovation in Transport (CENIT).

The objectives, work and upcoming projects of Casa Asia were presented, and Isabel Sabadí made a presentation on the innovation hub of Barcelona and its 22nd District, as well as the task of carrying out the business association of the 22@ Network BCN that brings together the innovative, technological and creative sector of the city of Barcelona. With more than 219 associates, we are responsible for the consolidation of the 22@Distrito as a dynamic, transforming, and advanced technology space: the district of innovation. Finally, innovative solutions were also presented to make mobility in Barcelona more sustainable.
