03 July 2025
Next Thursday, July 3, the 22@Network Barcelona Mobility Commission will hold a new session, in a special day that will combine the commission meeting with a visit to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), a reference center in innovation and technology.
During the meeting, we will continue working on the development of the micromobility project, review the provisional results of the survey and plan the next steps. Then, we will get to know first-hand the BSC facilities and its lines of work in mobility and computational urbanism.
Currently, the BSC hosts one of the most powerful computing infrastructures in the world, offering supercomputing capabilities, AI systems and data resources for the entire international scientific community. It is also the pre-exascale host entity of the EuroHPC initiative, providing advanced computing services on a European scale.
With five generations of the MareNostrum supercomputer installed since its creation, the center is currently working on the sixth version, MareNostrum 5, which will also integrate the first quantum computer of the BSC, opening a new era of hybrid computing.
